Bangladesh PM was invited for Brics meet and bilateral visit: Govt
The Indian government confirmed that it has extended two separate invitations to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman – one for a bilateral visit and another for the upcoming BRICS summit where he will attend as BIMSTEC chair. The invitations were conveyed in a letter dated July 14 from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Ministry of External Affairs clarified the dual invitation amid Dhaka’s hesitation over extradition talks concerning former PM Sheikh Hasina.
