BIS raises gold hallmarking fee to ₹75 from ₹45 ahead of festive season
India's Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) announced an increase in the gold hallmarking fee from ₹45 to ₹75 per 10 grams, effective ahead of the festive season. The All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) has urged the government and BIS to review the decision and retain the existing charge pending stakeholder consultation.
