The 57th GST Council meeting, scheduled for September 12 has been rescheduled due to a clash with the BRICS Summit in New Delhi. The meeting is expected to discuss pending GST issues, including ITC, corporate guarantees and rate rationalisation.
Convened by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI), the summit is designed to directly connect sovereign capital with bankable infrastructure, energy, and digital capacity projects across the 21 BRICS member states and partner nations.
The Delhi High Court has sought responses from the National Testing Agency and the Centre. This is regarding a plea challenging the decision to re-conduct the UGC-NET English examination. The court also directed authorities to decide on refunding examination fees. A candidate filed a plea to quash the notice for re-conducting the English paper. The matter is listed for further hearing on October 6.
Addressing a national workshop in New Delhi on leveraging free trade agreements, commerce minister Piyush Goyal said India's nine FTAs currently cover economies representing about $60 trillion in GDP and provide preferential access to nearly two-thirds of global trade.
