Enforce speed curb device norms: SC to govts

New Delhi: More than a decade after govt mandated installation of speed limiting devices or speed limiting functions in all public transport vehicles, enforcement remains lax, and Supreme Court Tuesday directed Centre, states and UTs to ensure compliance.Rule 118 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules provides for speed governors, and SC had passed various orders for installation of speed limiting devices.
